When we were appointed by Cadbury to help consolidate 400 corporate, sales and marketing personnel housed in two locations into one ‘joined-up’ working environment we realised that a delicate balance would be required to integrate the traditional Bourneville heritage with a ‘future proofed’ modern, elegant office space.
It was also important for us to incorporate Cadbury’s recognised environmental credentials and initiatives including power distribution controlled by individuals, working towards reducing wasteful stand-by energy usage, and recycled elements.
We designed the interior to include these initiatives and to be open and transparent, with beautiful views, whilst encouraging free flowing movement, communication and collaboration. The ground floor oval meeting room was converted into an elegant client-facing environment through the clever use of finishes and recessed lighting. Elsewhere, natural materials such as wood veneers, and beautiful partitions with fine glazing detail complemented the contemporary office furniture and endorsed the Cadbury brand.
